The Last Movie I Saw - 九降風 (Winds of September)


“Winds of September” was the last movie I saw, guess what, I love it.The story is talking about at 1990 era, seven Taiwanese high school students their life, and things happened between their friendships.



At that time, we had a strong baseball team – China Times Eagles, they got some famous players and lot of fans. But Eagles team dismiss at Sep 1998, because lot of player was running a gambling, and some gangsters stepped in. What happened on China Times Eagles really let Taiwanese people and baseball fans disappointment; once popular Taiwan baseball, now is starting to drop off.

    This looks like an interesting movie. I'll watch it someday, if there's a DVD with English subtitles. I'd like to learn more about Taiwan since so many of my students--including you, Weber :)--are from Taiwan.

    I watched this movie already and I like it too. Although I dont like the ending :(

    I had the opportunity to see the movie yesterday. And I concur, I liked it too. I love how unsentimentally nostalgic the movie feels, even for somebody who never lived in Taiwan before. I personally don't think the ending could've been any better and, for the film's subject matter, ended appropriately in an open-ended way. It wasn't necessarily a pessmistic ending.
